Time for introductions

We are a veteran-owned brewery located in Preston County West Virginia. Our doors opened in March 2019 and it’s been a wild ride ever since. From producing award winning beers to a world-wide pandemic to coming back to some normalcy, you all have stuck with us, supported us, and encouraged us and we can never give you enough thanks. With the help of our distributor Mountain State Beverage, we are available on tap and in cans at many locations in our beautiful state. We are also available in Garrett County Maryland through Lohr Distributors, Inc. Our promise is a unique and delicious craft beer experience with products that will come to you with hard work, passion, and quality as their backbone.

Our taproom located in the operational brewery is open to the public, and that includes your babies and fur babies. Expect to find seasonal food trucks and events that give back to our community. We have a limited in-house menu when food trucks are not available, so you never go home hungry.

Keep an eye on all of our social media for updates, events, and what we’re up to. We can't wait to meet you.

Cheers friends.

We continue to offer growler fills and 4-packs for to-go options. We also carry a variety of Honey River Meads that rotate with availability from Healthberry Farm in Dry Fork, WV. We also offer Swilled Dog seasonal cider, Dark Horse wines, Cayman Jack, and NA options.

Reviews

Towards the top of the list for WV Craft Breweries. Friendly service and a rotating assortment of ~12 or so beers. I’ll always enjoy a taproom with a popcorn machine. Worth the trip if you are staying in the Deep Creek Area.

Great brewery! We love the beers and diversity of the beers they offer. The staff was super friendly and helpful. There is indoor and outdoor seating. This was a very relaxing spot for us. We will return.

Easily our favorite spot in the area. I haven’t had a beer that wasn’t superbly balanced and it’s a very laid back and welcoming atmosphere. Mitch is about as friendly as they come and had some great suggestions on things to do in the area. We look forward to meeting the rest of the staff and continuing to see what new and exciting things come from High Ground!

Popped in for a couple drinks with kids in tow - the brewery was laid back, plenty of space, kids enjoyed digging in the rocks (and some koolaid, thanks beertender!), hubby enjoyed a couple IPAs and I had a local cider. Will return if we’re back in the area. Cheers!

Look ma, we won!

We have been honored by receiving several awards at different festivals for our beers. We have also received several local awards for our taproom experience.

About Us

wE KEEP IT SMALL

We are a tiny unit. Our Head Brewer is Jack Friend and our Assistant Brewer is Courtney Simpson. The taproom is headed by Mitchell Kushner. We have the most amazing group of beertenders around. They can always steer you in the right direction.

But how are the beers…

We make 80+ different beers in rotating succession. Some are one-offs, some make returns. Don’t let us tell you how good our products are, look at what real life customers are saying.
